I have been making a lot of new avatars recently for my store AVATARS AVATARS in Hughes Rise sim. I love Marilyn Monroe so this avi was an obvious choice. Following the recent death of Michael Jackson I decided to create this tribute avatar of him in his heyday. I am really pleased with the results.
A customer requested this Mrs Lovett avatar to go with the Sweeney Todd avie that I already sell. I am glad to say she was very pleased with the end product as she is a huge fan of the film.
This last avatar was something I really wanted to make so I could wear it myself lol. I love the third Pirates of the Carribean film, especially the Calypso character. She also goes well with the Jack Sparrow avi that I already made. Making her hair was the biggest challenge as I have never made dreadlocks before but I love how she came out!

Relay for life in Second life

My friend and I went to Relay for life a few weeks ago to do the walk around the sims and to add boxes along the way. I was really glad that Lilwitch asked me to go because it was a truly fantastic experience. The sims were breathtaking on their own. Above is Stonehenge with us in the middle showing that it was true-to-life sized. The lighting was spectacular. Below is the sun, that sim has a model of the Milky way and you could fly through space. Words cannot truly describe the feeling of it. All the people we met on the way were in great spirits too, despite the harsh reality of why we were there, and there was a rollercoaster of emotions as we read the sponsored boxes around the tracks.
I wouldn't have missed the experience for anything. Thanks Lilwitch, love you <3.

Perfect Prizes

Today and yesterday I got some very good hunt prizes and gifts. I went to the opening of Harlow sim today where Striking Poses was having a party, and I immediately won a gift of a pack of poses. I chose Brigitte Bardot poses and they are very smooth so good for AO's as well as posing. I am using the poses in the photos.
My skin is from the Red Diamond hunt at Piece of Candy in Jersey sim which I did yesterday, 20 diamonds each containing a skin.

This evening I did Agnes Finney's hunt. Her gowns are stunning so I was really glad that I found most of the prizes.
My hair is one of the prizes, made by House of Heart. As you can see the dresses are perfectly textured and compliment the figure very well, to say the least.
When I move in a well made flexi prim gown it makes all of my movements seem very elegant. I can highly recommend Agnes's hunt and her store as a whole!Thank you to all the kind creators who make Second Life worthwhile.

Second Life's new continent - Living in Zindra

I have been dreading the changes, I have one small mature themed store on mainland so I knew I would have to move. All mature stores on mainland have to close down or move to the new continent Zindra.
Is it going to be a rat race of nasty, tacky stores flooding there, followed by nekkid n00bs who managed to work out how to verify their age?
Or a wasteland of deserted scenery dotted with a few desperate store owners begging people to buy their finely sculpted and textured prim attachments which will surely be offered for free on Xstreet at the same time.
Linden Lab desperately want creators to sell via Xstreet instead of in-world as they will make more money and have total control over what content is sold.
Users of IMVU know how well selling via the website alone works, and how much time and effort it takes to ensure mature items are made so that Mother Theresa's ghost would be happy to have them in her heavenly tea parlour. It never benefits the creator, and gives the virtual world owner a total monopoly over user's purchases.

I will have to try and get a parcel on Zindra however worrying it is, when I was there perusing I saw something mysteriously foreboding, a warning no less, of what I was getting myself into.....

Mad about Miasnow

Skins are so important to get right, they make or break your whole look. I am so glad that I discovered Miasnow because even her fantasy skins have realism, and her realistic skins are amazingly so.
I have now collected nearly all the skins she has made. The prices are reasonable and some are discounted. Also she does free skin demos, (boo to paying for demos). I took this photo in her store, my graphics quality is low at the moment, and the skin still looks very realistic.

Nigeria Hunt in Second Life

Second Life can be like Groundhog Day at times, this new hunt from Tamsin Barzane is something new and it's fun.

Get a basket and some free clothes for the event, then hunt oranges for 20 prizes. There is a grand prize if you find them all.
It's a very realistic looking sim with native animals of Nigeria all around. The above pic shows me in the bushes with two hippos.
While hunting I met this beautiful lady called River Correia. She is a plus size model and she is wearing a dress by SMS - So many styles. She was kind enough to let me take her picture. She was radiant in the summer sunshine. Second Life really needs more plus sized models, especially ones as friendly as River.
Thanks for making the hunt Tamsin, it's a refreshing change from the average hunt.

GLD super skimpy

I got this outfit today from GLD MM. That looks like a date in roman numerals, but it is of course Genie Lassard Designs midnight mania.
It came in a lot of colors, this is tangerine, very summery, very skimpy, and very well textured.
I am still wearing the hair and hair ornament from Inorite, but I tinted it orange today to match the outfit and it's given it a subtle effect.

Inorite sent me this hair via their subscribo for Purple RFL day. The bob was a deep purple and I wore it on the day, today I darkened the color by simply modifying it and darkening it on the grey scale. It is now nearly black and is suitable to wear anytime. It's not even a simple bob, its graduated expertly. It came with the jewelled headwear I am also wearing. It's called Cleo so I assume that Cleopatra was the inspiration. It's very pretty and I decided to wear a Gong Li shape and a cheongsam dress from Pixeldolls with it. I am using a pose from []On the cover[] which I have at my Geisha Art photo studio in Relleri.

Sn@tch now uses their VIP group to send their free outfits, its 300 L to join, but if you love their stuff it's worth it. This is their first group outfit called Words. Don't look too close because those words are naughty. They are the words that Linden Lab have deemed broadly offensive and will be removing from Second Life (tm) search. I don't want to get into that debate right now but the outfit is very good.
A bold mixture of blue, black and green that sounds like a clash but has a fantastic vibrant, modern feel. Ivey is one of the few people who could pull that together, and make it work well.

By amazing coincidence I also got the sneakers yesterday as a subscribo sent gift from Sharodie's tails. They match perfectly! Sharodie's tails is incredibly generous, great for wonderfully colorful neko stuff, and a variety of general fashion items.

Magic Of Oz Party

I dressed as Dorothy with Toto in my basket for the Magic Of Oz party on Friday. There is a balloon hunt there too, which is easy and fun. This sim is designed in great detail, very original and has fantastic fishing. For the ultimate in cuteness see the Chipmunk store, avatars, pets, and accessories made in mind-boggling detail and they are inexpensive. The party lasts a week so you have lots of time to join in the fun.

How long is long enough to suffer?

Having been the subject of some terrible gossip and lies during my time in second life, it never really gets easier. I know it happens to everyone at some time, but what really makes it worse is when you have a problem and the person is so spiteful to say 'oh well I know you must be evil/a killer robot/Hillary Clinton because I heard some gossip of a rumor of a friend of their cousin who said on their blog that you were!'.
Who needs proof of anything when you can make stuff up to attack people with?
The fact that all logic disproves it is irrelevant apparently.

I havent wanted to talk about this since it was over with for me, but since people still want to act like this is true I suppose I have suffered long enough and want to say the truth.
And dont forget the logic.

A person decided to set up Autism Speaks charity boxes around second life, they had no permission from Autism Speaks, and Autism Speaks said they wanted them removed. The creator was told of this, and at a meeting of myself and numerous other people on the autism spectrum, she agreed to remove the boxes and instead to raise money for autistic children. Autism Speaks does not give any money to autistic children, which is one reason why they are seen in a bad light. A few days later I was teleported to a store that still had the old collection boxes which should have been removed because they were unauthorized.
I messaged the owner Teagan, who I had spoken to many times, and she sent Laynie Link to talk to me. I knew Laynie well, we had met and spoken many times, we were in the same groups, and I had bought many items from her store.
I basically told her what had happened, I was polite, she was polite, she hadn't heard from the creator of the boxes that it should have been removed, and asked me for more information on why Autism Speaks isnt popular. We went together to the autism museum in second life, and talked more. Then we went back to her store.
She asked me more questions but seemed confused and got annoyed. I left and she said she would talk to the box creator. Apparently she did and the creator did not admit what had happened regarding removing the boxes, Laynie then assumed I was lying about it and got very hostile. She said I was banned from her store and made some nasty comments to me.
She also said she was abuse reporting me.
The people who were at the meeting with the box creator messaged her to find out why she was now denying the removal and what was going on. I was then logged off by an administrator and was banned from second life. I filed a ticket and told them to read the logs because I hadn't done anything wrong.
Within two hours I was unbanned and received an apology from Linden Lab (and that is rare!), they had read the logs and indeed I had done nothing wrong. Laynie had filed a false abuse report, and either lied or given fake logs. That was a really low trick considering all I had done was talk to her politely.

I was then able to log back in and I decided to give away the items I had bought from her store and give a notecard explaining why the Autism Speaks collection box shouldnt be there. I was entirely in my right to do that. Friends came to my sim and I gave away the items and notecard. I noticed one box was still there even though I gave it because it was copy and transfer. It was a free dress that she had sent through fashcon the previous year. The free dress had copy and transfer perms and I put it into a boc with the notecard and left it on the ground for people who were late and could still get it.
It was there for approx. 48 hours then I deleted it.

For me that was the end of it. This was in February 2008.
However when I was unbanned I am sure that Laynie would have got a warning for the false abuse report she made and would have been annoyed.
She was possibly annoyed at me giving away what I had bought and giving the notecard. But her next action was a complete and utter sham when she claimed I somehow copied/stole/copybotted her item. That was a total lie and she knows it.

I have never copied botted/ripped anything ever in second life, that is why I am still there! Many people have been banned for doing that, Lindens can see your machine address, your IP, your ISP, they are not stupid. They know who people are, who your alts are, and if someone uses a device to steal.
Laynie's lies at the time were beyond cruel, a shame on people who have really suffered having items stolen, and a pure self-promoting vehicle for her, riding me as a scapegoat.
She directly caused me to get death threats, severe abuse, and I would never wish that on anyone. I am a creator myself, how does someone deserve to be given death threats? Do people even consider what they are doing when they lie publically like this?

This is a log from the time when Laynie did an 'interview'.
It claims I 'hacked' second life. I have no idea what that is supposed to mean. Laynie knew me and had met me many times before.
The first paragraph claims I took "creations" plural, then in the logs Laynie herself admits just one dress was given. (Because that one dress was a freebie she already gave out with copy/transfer permissions).

"Laynie Link was pushed up against a wall this week when she released a few dresses, sales were to be donated to Autism Speaks - a research group regarding autism. An avatar (who Laynie didn’t know at the time) named Lalinda Lovell began spamming groups, saying “Don’t support it!” linking people to the aforementioned Wiki page, and justifying her actions further by hacking Second Life and taking Laynie’s creations and passing them around for free. “Here guys, you won’t have to buy this - I just ripped it, have it for free! Boycott Layniewear!”

What a cruel thing to do, especially to someone as kindhearted as Laynie.

[16:09] Laynie Link: i tried to talk to her, get her to tell me WHY she was so against the organization

[16:09] Laynie Link: she said that AS is evil because they force women to have abortions
[16:09] Laynie Link: and that they fund research, which is evil

For me this says it all. She certainly doesn't seem sad and hurt. She is happy and smiling because her store is doing well, she is making more traffic and more money. Motive and incentive for her lies to continue and widen.
She encouraged other people to harrass me, and the lies spiralled to absurd and disturbing proportions.
Considering I had broken no rules, not broken terms of service, and was entitled to my own opinion on a charity, I was villified, and this is still continuing!

Today I got wrongly treated in second life, and immediately the person cried 'oh but you stole from Laynie Link so that proves you are evil' etc. I would not be in second life if I broke TOS like that, where is the logic????

The problem today was someone gave me something and the group decided it was against the rules. Do lucky chair rules mean someone deserves bad treatment?

I messaged the creator of the item in question to try and sort it out and people had spread rumors immediately that were totally false. This is the log with creator name removed.

Small simple matters dont need to be blown out of all proportion, dont need to be used to fuel drama for drama lovers, and should never be used as an excuse to verbally abuse and attack people.
I am really sorry that I have had to even speak about this, I have remained silent since February 2008 and hoped that people would do the right thing, that people would eventually be honest.
But how long is long enough to suffer?

As an addition to this, thank you to the many kind people who have messaged me with support.

I only made a brief mention of Teagan because she was really nothing to do with it, she never caused any problems, has always been polite and friendly to me and vice versa.

Two people made comments that were in the same hate-filled vengeance wreaked mode as I have seen before, one was the person Laynie was interviewed by in the log. They have clearly learned nothing in the last 15 months. I removed the ability to post comments as they want to continue to make abusive attacks on me even now, even here. There is no interest in finding out the truth, in making anything better, but only in negativity and more drama. Sorry but I do not have to suffer your abuse anymore. You will have to find someone else or better yet, something better to occupy your time with.

A Rare Gem: Dionysia Jewelry

I discovered this rare gem of a store when doing a grid-wide hunt last year. Dionysia Designs has incredibly detailed jewelry, its all prim too, not alpha textures. The detail is so fine that even the earrings have the post and butterfly backing. The sets are reasonably priced but if you are looking to try some for free join the subscribo-matic and every week Dionysia the owner sets out one or two dollarbie items. There is also a Freebie ring, hunt prizes and a new lucky board.

This photo below is showing me wearing what I won on the lucky board. This gorgeous sapphire and diamond necklace and earring set is one of the prizes, there is also a victorian set, aquamarine set, a man's jewel set and an amethyst set. They really are some of the most beautiful prizes you can win on a board.

Lucky tribe and Designer shopping network

I won some cool prizes doing the Lucky Tribe mushroom hunt at Paris New York sim. Here I am wearing SkinTight skin which I won, Elate bronze dress which I won, and using an *ES* pose which was a spot prize. The skin came in a pack and I love the detail it has, especially around the collar bones. My face looks a bit lighter because I am using a facelight with sim set at evening time. My hair is by Bryce Tully called Boarder and was sent as a sample via Designer shopping network, the invention of the suave and sophisticated Rika Watanabe.I found out that I can get missed DSN packages re-sent by going to her store Clever Things and requesting a resend for that day. The hair was one of the resends, its a male style (I signed up for all the channels including mens) and I am glad I did because this hair is soft looking and a good color. 7seas fishing and custom fish

The huge variety of prizes that can be caught in this game is pretty amazing.
Now that so many places are creating their own custom fish and items there is always something new to catch.
Some of my favorites are Katat0nik and Dilly Dolls fishing areas.
